Network Meal Service Log
The Meal Service Log contains details of the meal services that have been recorded at all organizations on your network.
To access the Network Meal Service Log, log in to the CACFP/SFSP application at the network level; you will land on the Meal Services Log page, which contains:
A Filters section at the top, allows you to filter the list to specific information:
Location: Drop-down field.
- Use the drop-down list to select specific locations, you can choose more than one location.
- To clear selections, click on the "X" next to the site names.
- The field defaults to Any, which will list every location running a meal service on the meal service log.
Program Type: Drop-down field.
- Use the drop-down list to select which program types you wish to view on the meal service log:
- School Year.
- Summer.
- Infant Program.
- Defaults to Any which will list all three program types on the meal service log.
Meal Type: Drop-down list of the type of meal being served.
- Use the drop-down list to select which meal types you wish to view:
- Breakfast.
- Lunch.
- Snack.
- Dinner.
- AM, PM, NR Snacks.
- The field defaults to Any which will list all types of meals served on the meal service log.
Planned Menu: Drop-down list.
- Use the drop-down list to select:
- Yes, will only include meal services that had a planned menu.
- No, will only include meal services that did not have a planned menu.
- The field defaults to Any which will list both planned and non-planned meal services on the meal service log.
Comments: Drop-down field.
- Use the drop-down list to select:
- Yes, will include notes made during the meal service.
- No, will not include notes made during the meal service.
- The field defaults to Any which will list all notes in all meal services.
Start Date: enter the date you wish the system to begin pulling meal service data.

- The field defaults to the 1st of the current month, use the calendar widget or physically type in the date to change it.
End Date: enter the date you wish the system to stop pulling meal service data.

- The field defaults to the present date, use the calendar widget or physically type in the date to change it.
The Meal Services Log section contains the information generated by your filter choices.
The first column contains details of the location and the user who recorded the meal service.
- Click the blue + radio button directly to the left of the organization and user field in the first column, the field will expand to show details of the service.
Columns 2 through 7 contain the Date, Start and End times of the meal, whether the service was Edited, by Whom, and the Status of the meal service.
The consecutive columns list the details that are being tracked by the agency.
The last column is the actions column that allows the meal service to be:
- Viewed: click on the dark blue folder icon to open up a meal service and view details of the service.
- Edited: click the orange pencil icon to open up a meal service and edit the details of the service.
- Deleted: click the red trash icon to delete the meal service.
If you ever need to delete a meal service, be absolutely certain because once deleted, NO information from that meal service can be retrieved in the back end of the system.
How do I create a Network Level Meal Service export?
Log in to the CACFP/SFSP application at the network level; you will land on the Network Meal Services Log page.
The Export button can be found on the far-right side of the light blue Filters header.
To export the Meal Service Log:
- If you choose to filter the meal service log, remember to click the Filter button in the far right corner of the light blue Filters header.
- Next click the Export button beside the Filter button.
- You will be directed to your Export Inbox, under the Administration heading in the left navigation pane, and a green banner will confirm that your export will be available in your export inbox.
- Refresh your page (Ctrl+R on your keyboard) and your export will appear on the page when completed.
- Click on the dark blue view icon in the Actions column, you should then see the Meal Service List in the Downloads folder of your computer or, depending on the device and software, at the top or bottom of your page for viewing, click on it and it will open up the list in an Excel spreadsheet.

Network Meal Service Log using the Error Log feature
The Error Log feature prevents users from creating meal services outside of the date/time settings set on their Agency Settings page. Users will also not be allowed to start a meal service if there is already a meal service for that type at that site that day, in this case, the Meal Services log will show the status of the meal service as Error.
When using the Error Log feature, the Filters section at the top of the page will contain an extra filter field labeled Error, it is a drop-down field allowing you to select:
- Any in order to see ALL meal services.
- Yes in order to see ONLY Error Log meal services.
- No in order to filter OUT the Error Log meals and see only the Completed meal services.

What does it mean if my Meal Service says "Error"?
If the Error Log Feature is enabled and a site has not recorded their meal service during the specific times set in the Agency Settings, the system will create an entry for that meal with all field information missing. The system will classify this as an Error. Click here for more information on the Error Log feature.
This record will be displayed in both the Network and Agency Level Meal Service Log in a red text button in the Status column that will read Error.
You can use the filter option to filter the meal service log so that ONLY meal services in Error are viewed, to do so:
- Use the drop-down filter field Error and select the Yes option.
- Click the Filter button on the top right-hand side of the Filters header.
The empty Error meal service records will still contain the icons to view, edit, or delete the meal service.
Users will be able to retroactively complete that meal service's information. Click here for the instructions on retroactively entering a meal service.
When all of the details for that meal service are completed, the meal service will no longer be considered to be in an Error state.
How can I customize my Network Meal Service Log columns?
When logged into the CACFP/SFSP application at the Network level, Network Administrators can customize the columns they see in the Network Meal Service Log by heading to the left navigation pane and clicking Network Settings.
Scroll down to the Network Meal Service Log section. The columns of the log can be customized by checking and unchecking options; remember to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button.
Column Definitions:
Organization & User: the name of the user and the organization where the meal service took place.
Date: the date the meal service took place.
Start Time: the time the meal service started.
End Time: the time the meal service ended.
Edited At: the date the meal service was edited (will show most recent if edited multiple times and say N/A if not edited).
Edited By: the person who edited the meal service (will show most recent if edited multiple times).
Status: the status of the meal service (completed, in progress).
Meal Type: the type of meal provided (Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, Supper, AM Snack, PM Snack, NR Snack).
Meals Available from Previous Day: the total amount of meals available from the previous meal service.
Meals Delivered: the total amount of meals delivered meant for this specific meal service.
First Meals: the total amount of first meals provided in the meal service.
Second Meals: the total amount of second meals provided in the meal service.
Field Trip Meals: the total amount of field trip meals provided in the meal service.
Total Meals: the total amount of meals provided in the meal service.
Eligible Carryover Meals: the total amount of meals eligible to be carried over into another meal service.
Damaged/Incomplete/Non-reimbursable Meals: the total amount of meals damaged, incomplete or non-reimbursable in that meal service.
Notes/Comments: this column will display up to 70 characters/letters; to see additional text, click on "Read More".
Actions: Ability to view or edit the meal service.
How do I download Network Service Logs in bulk?
Individual meal service logs can be downloaded in bulk, especially useful for times when you need to access many logs quickly, such as during an audit. To do this:
- Log in to the CACFP/SFSP application at the network level; you will land on the Network Meal Services Log page.
- Use the Filters to generate a list of the meal service logs you wish to download.
- On the right-hand side of the light blue Filters header are the tools to download your filtered meal service logs.
- Depending on which format you need, click on either PDF or XLSX.
- After clicking on PDF or XLSX you will be directed to the Your Downloads screen.
- A green banner appears across the top of the page indicating that your download has been queued and can be found in your download inbox.
- A green checkmark icon in the Status column indicates your bulk download is ready.
- A blue clock icon in the Status column indicates the download is in progress, refresh your page (Ctrl+R on your keyboard) until you see the green check mark.
- Click on the dark blue bar graph icon to initiate the download of the zip file.
- You will be brought to another screen to download the zip file for your logs.
- You have 20 seconds to click on the Download ZIP link before it expires; you can refresh the download zip link if it expires.
- Depending on your device and operating system, once you click on the link, you will see the file appear on either the lower left-hand side or upper right-hand side of your browser.
- Click on the file and it will open when it is finished downloading.
- You will be brought to a folder in your computer's downloads with all of the individual files available (in either PDF or XLSX, depending on which option you chose).
- You can access these zip files at any time by going to the left navigation pane and clicking Administration then Downloads and refreshing the ZIP download in the list of queued and completed downloads.
- To delete any download, find it on your list and click on the red trash can.
The individual logs will be saved in the following format:
Name of Agency-Date of Meal Service-Type of Meal-Meal Service ID
Example: AfterSchool_Site-2021-09-05-Supper-4767
Loss of Internet Connectivity
If internet connectivity is lost or signal strength is low during an active meal service the following warnings will appear:
The Red warning will appear when connectivity is lost or too weak while attempting to record a meal for a participant or count a meal. This indicates that the meal has NOT been recorded and should be attempted again once connectivity is restored.
"Sorry, we were unable to record that meal at this time. Please make sure you're connected to the internet"
The Orange warning will appear anytime during any meal service where connectivity is lost or too weak. The user will NOT be able to continue the meal service until connectivity is restored.
"Please make sure you're connected to the internet or reload this page."
Note: The meal service timer will continue during any and all connectivity losses.
