The Goals Feature allows you to measure the client's steps as you assist them toward reaching an attainable goal.

How do I access the Goals Feature?
The Goals Feature, when activated, will appear in the Case Management application, as a tab along the top of the client profile. It is from within the Goals tab that you will measure the client's steps as you assist them toward reaching an attainable goal.
How do I use the Goals tab?
Creating a new goal
- Log into the Case Management application and navigate to the client's Goals tab.
- Click on the dark blue + New Goal button, this will open up a New Goal section.
- Goal Type: This is a customizable drop-down list of predefined goals that the client will be working towards. Goal types are added in Administration - Lists; click here for instructions on how to customize lists.
- Goal Status: This is a customizable drop-down list describing the client's current progress for this goal. These include:
- Active: The client is currently working on this goal.
- Partially Achieved: The client completed some but not all of the goal.
- Achieved: The client has completed this goal.
- Discontinued: This goal is no longer being tracked.
- Details: these are an outline of the client's specific details relating to the goal.
- Goal Set Date: this is the date that you and the client established the goal.
- Goal Target Completion Date: this is the date that the client aims to complete the goal.
- Final Date: this is the date the client completes the goal. This will be generated automatically when the goal is set to Achieved.
- Once all fields have been completed, click Save & Previous to return to the tab previous to the Goals tab, Save Changes to remain on the Goals tab, or Save & Next to move on to the Services tab.
- You will know the goal has been saved when a green text box appears on the top right side of the page with the message Success. The client has been updated successfully.
There is no limit to how many goals can be set. To add a new goal simply repeat the process, starting with a click on the + New Goal button.
If you open up a New Goal section in error or decide not to create the goal after all, click on the Trash Can icon to delete it.
When you are creating a new goal, the goal will be Active by default. All other options will be greyed out. Once the goal is saved, you will be able to change the status when editing the goal.
Editing or completing a goal
- Access the client's Goals tab.
- Find the goal you wish to edit and click on it to expand the details.
- Make the necessary changes in the fields that appear, and once all changes have been completed, click Save & Previous to return to the tab previous to the Goals tab, Save Changes to remain on the Goals tab, or Save & Next to move on to the Services tab.
Note that changing the status to anything but Active will set the Final Date to the current date and will disable the goal's Actions.
Adding and updating Actions
Actions are the steps that lead up to completing the Goal. You can add new Actions or update existing Actions for any Goal with an Active status. Goals that are not Active cannot add Actions.
- To add an Action to a Goal, navigate to the Goals tab, find the goal you wish to edit, and click on it to expand the details.
- Click on the light blue + Add Action button, to open a New Action section where you can add information necessary in assisting the client to meet that particular goal.
- Details: enter specific instructions for this action.
- Action Set Date: this will be the date the client started this particular action.
- Action Target Completion Date: this will be the date this action should be completed.
- Notes: additional details about this action can be entered here.
- Completed: check this off when the client completes the action.
- There is no limit to how many Actions can be set per goal. To add a new action simply repeat the above process, starting with a click on the + New Action button.
- Once all information has been added to the fields, click Save & Previous to return to the tab previous to the Goals tab, Save Changes to remain on the Goals tab, or Save & Next to move on to the Services tab.
