Heat map report
The Heat Map Report offers a visual representation of client visits within a specified reporting period, highlighting the distribution of visits across different zip codes.
How is the heat map created?
To ensure client anonymity, the heat map displays only one data point per zip code. In rural areas with large zip codes, this can make the map appear sparse.
Here’s how it works: For each zip code, a single data point is placed on the map to represent all visits within that area. For instance, if there are 100 visits in the 90210 zip code, they will all be represented by one point in Beverly Hills, even if these visits are spread across 100 different households.
The address data points are sourced from Open Street Map, Open Addresses, and the United States Postal Service. These services provide coordinates based on addresses and zip codes. The system uses these coordinates to determine the number of data points and selects a representative location for each zip code. The map legend indicates the density of visits by zip code, which adjusts based on the zoom level.
